Counterpoints Arts and Cast invite you to a South Yorkshire (and Wakefield!) focussed event to share plans and ideas for Refugee Week 2027, meet new people and build networks.

All welcome: artists, performers, organisations from the arts, refugee or other sectors; whether you have run or been involved in Refugee Week programmes before or are considering it for the first time.

There will be live music and performances, a hot lunch will be provided and there is a budget for travel expenses.

The day will include:

– An introduction to Refugee Week from Lara Deffense (Refugee Week UK Coordinator)
– Highlights from Refugee Week 2026 across South Yorkshire
– Ideas and resources for 2026

There will be a chance to:
– Share your plans, ideas and requests for support / partners
– Discuss how best to hold Refugee Week events that are welcoming and safe for all
– Consider ideas for Platforma 2027, a festival being held across South Yorkshire and Wakefield in October 2027, co-produced by Counterpoints with artists and organisations across the region
