Gregory Sholette, Season 1, Beyond the Now
Gregory Sholette highlights recent socially-engaged art that addresses the social impact of the pandemic. Some projects respond to the effects of COVID-19 directly, while others concentrate on long-running crises, including the experiences of those who are displaced because of the effects of war, political oppression or economic precarity. All of them, in different ways, affirm human agency in the face of a pandemic that has worsened pre-existing inequality.
