‘Laughter is the brightest in the place where the food is’ – Irish proverb. Come and join us for an evening of Eritrean, Sudanese and Yemeni food to celebrate London Refugee Week.

“One day I will cook for you”. A phrase many Refugees and Asylum Seekers have said over the years, as they live in limbo, with no access to proper kitchen facilities. The IN THE MIX project was a direct response to this phrase and it was surprising how easy and quickly it came together. Working in collaboration with Granville Community Kitchen, we set up a Supper and Social club for people who live in and around the South Kilburn Estate. We are now expanding our wings, sharing our food, and encouraging people to join us.

A community based project devised by artist Matilda Velevitch where refugees cook their favourite dishes and invite local residents to come for a group dinner each week.
