As part of the Li Dû Man commission we are pleased to present a publication produced by Zehra Doğan and Ege Dundar with the editorial support of writer, Jo Glanville. See here: Li Du Man Publication
Li Dû Man reflects on the installation (of the same name) produced as part of the Who Are We? project at Tate Exchange and on Zehra’s journey as an artist, activist and journalist. It offers insight into the current situation in Turkish prisons, where a number of writers, academics and writers – many of whom are Zehra’s friends and collaborators – still remain. It also provides a practical and participatory case study on ‘artists at risk’ with a first hand account and commentary from Zehra.
The commission and the publication, in particular, is the result of a partnership between Counterpoints Arts, The Open University, Tate Exchange, English PEN, PEN International and Index on Censorship.
We will host a Learning Lab on 23 January at Tate Exchange from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
