Artists of Change is a new programme of arts residencies, developed in collaboration with Lewisham Council, for its tenure as Borough of Culture.
Two sets of artists have been working with Council teams, local community organisations and residents to investigate how to open up two-way conversations between the Council and its diverse communities. Dima Karout and Teatro Vivo‘s work will capture different perspectives and provoke new ways of thinking, highlighting the power arts, culture and creativity has in bringing about social and cultural change. The residencies will culminate in the work, co-created with communities and presented in Lewisham to coincide with Refugee Week in June 2022. These outcomes will amplify voices of residents and spark conversations around migration and climate justice.
