Aga Khan Music Award winner, Soumik Datta will perform an evening of contemporary Indian music to address refugee issues, together with SDA associate artists, Gurdain Singh on tabla and Preetha Narayanan on violin.
The concert will be followed by the launch of the Green Room – SDA’s new residency programme to deliver professional development opportunities for global south refugee and migrant musicians. Find out who the Green Room Artists are and take part in an informal Q&A.
Over three residential weeks at Hawkwood Centre, seven Green Room artists will undergo a series of workshops, rehearsals and recording to co-create authentic and collective work in a safe, welcoming and nurturing space. Read more about it in the call out here.
The event will be followed by a networking opportunity for local artists and organisations.
This is a seated event.
