Projects

All our work is done in collaboration and we always seek to build capacity through our programmes. Inherent in all of our work is an awareness of intersectionality and in our current business plan we are also bringing a particular focus on climate justice and mental health in the context of displacement.

  • Refugee Week is the world’s largest arts & culture festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.

  • A pioneering project exploring how the power of pop culture can be harnessed to shift the way we talk, think and feel about migration and displacement.

  • A stand-up comedy programme of workshops and live gigs for new comics from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

  • Elif Shafak, Philippe Sands, and Dina Nayeri will be the judges of the inaugural £15,000 Footnote x Counterpoints Writing Prize for writers from refugee or migrant backgrounds.

  • Platforma festival takes place in a different English region every two years, in collaboration with local partners to showcase work, build capacity and share learning.

  • Exploring the role of the arts in promoting mental health in a two-year programme of network development, commissions and shared learning.

  • Learning Lab - a space where diverse communities of learners explore the creative arts as a driver for social change.

  • Counterpoints Arts is one of 7 partners in Beyond the Now – a cooperative social arts practice platform, initiated in response to Covid-19.
